Warm vs Cool Light: Choosing Color Temperature
Color temperature describes the appearance of white light. It does not describe how bright a lamp is.
Understand the scale
Color temperature is measured in Kelvin (K). Lower values appear warmer and more amber; higher values appear cooler. Compare the Kelvin specification separately from brightness in lumens.
Start with the atmosphere
A warm appearance can suit a relaxed room, while some people prefer a cooler appearance for detailed tasks. Your wall colors, other lights, and personal preferences affect the result.
Consider adjustable light
A model with adjustable color temperature can offer flexibility. Check the actual supported range and whether brightness can be controlled separately. Color-changing RGB features do not automatically confirm adjustable white light.
